About US
Equal parts alternative rock and indie pop, Hello Stranger is a band that is unbound by genre constraints. Hailing from the vibrant music scene of Los Angeles, the trio has been steadily carving their own path since their formation in the mid-2010’s.
Following their debut album, Long Division, the band has garnered millions of streams, critical acclaim from the likes of Buzzbands LA, Entertainment Tonight, and NBC, and rave reviews for their commanding performances at iconic venues like Whisky A Go Go, The Viper Room, and the OC Fair.
Composed of Sam Deffenbaugh (Vocals), Alex Monfort (Guitar), and Doug Slohm (Bass), Hello Stranger draws on influences from the 90s and 00s alternative scenes, but with a distinctly modern tone. The band’s sound features captivating lyrics, soaring choruses, and frequent dynamic changes. They are also known for their visually-stunning music videos that capture the film influence of their hometown.
Since their debut, they have released a follow up, Social Dissonance, and two EPs - If Memory Serves and True Belief. They are currently preparing for the release of their third LP, Age of Disenchantment.
